The groove may be the most important thing, the heartbeat of each song, the basement for the melodic instruments.
The "Sound-House" may be shining bright, but when this basement of drums and bass is not perfect, everything will break down.
During the last 32 shows the band could cont on that basement, built by Magga and Chris- and also the latest album stands on solid ground. "never change a winning team", but sadly we have to announce, that Magga leaves the band with comprehensible reasons .

Jetzt ist es schon wieder fast drei Jahre her, seit ich zum zweiten mal bei
CUSTARD angeheuert habe. Drei Jahre, die ich um nichts in der Welt missen
möchte. Spaß hat´s gemacht - aber wenn man versucht Familie, Beruf und eine
zeitintensive Geschichte wie eine Band unter einen Hut zu kriegen, kann es
passieren, dass eines dieser 3 Dinge zu kurz kommt. Da die Band es nicht
verdient hat, dass ein Mitglied nur halbherzig dabei ist, während alle
anderen mindestens 120 % abrufen, war es für mich nur logisch und fair,
Platz zu machen. Wie gesagt, es waren drei ereignisreiche Jahre, mit einer
geilen CD und geilen Gigs, wobei ich viele tolle und verrückte Leute
kennenlernen durfte - danke dafür.
Den weiteren Weg meiner Bandkollegen werde ich interessiert weiter
verfolgen und hoffe, dass sich endlich der verdiente Erfolg einstellt. Zum
Abschluß möchte ich ein schmalziges Filmzitat bemühen - gesprochen, bevor
ein Schiff unterging: "Gentlemen, es war mir eine Ehre mit Ihnen spielen zu dürfen !"

The rumors are even faster than it is spoken, but it is true: I will leave Custard again after 2 years being in the band.
We realized that we have different views to the musically part and for that reason we will part ways in good mood.
Finally i like to thank the band and the fans for having a great time and i wish Custard all the best for the future.

For sure we are proud to be part of it by interpreting the song Metal Tango of their great ´87 released album Triumph and Agony.

Finally here is an update!
The tour was fu**ing GREAT !!! We found a bunch of new friends in Belgium and also the shows here in Germany were a BLAST ! Most of all the show in Oberhausen will stay in our minds. Thanks mates !

Chris will be in the jury of 1st BATTLE OF THE BANDS next Saturday.
The best 12 bands will do a liveshow in Peine and will be rated by a jury of specialists. Some wellknown labels like Roadrunner, Drakkar and Puresteel Records, as well as from the press like Rock Hard and Metal Hammer will sit next to Chris and make a decision.

We regret to inform you, that we parted ways with our vocalist Guido Brieke. This separation has personal reasons, which did not permit other consequences.
We hope to be able to fill the free position again very soon. Anybody who feels suitable and destined to fit this position is welcome to drop us a line.

We said a honest goodbye to our Kasi with a great, great party and Oscar did a great job for the first time with Custard.
F***ing hot temperatures in the venue and much too warm beer could not break the first class feeling. Both bands did great shows and celebrated ROCK *goddamned* !

All who were not there should take a look to the pics and start crying. A great HAIL goes out to the more then 100 bangers, who did that party with us. You rule!

Like we posted in the last entry, Guitarist Holgi did not survive the Easter Metal Meeting in perfect condition.
During the show of Metal Inquisitor he and bassist Jens had to try Stagediving.






This action ends in the hospital for Holgi, because he broke the head of his arm-bone in his shoulder. His arm is set unmoveable for now and his guitar will not being used in the next few weeks. But we hope that we can play the Kasi-Farewell-Oscar-Welcome-Gig on May 5th like we planed; for sure with Holgi.

In the meantime Holgi got new Diving-Equipment. With those professional stuff there will be no more accident in the future (hopefully!).

The Festival in Roeselare/Belgium on 23th October 2004 is canceled.
Read the official statement:
I am sorry to inform you that we have to re-shedule Bang Your Brain to next
year. Due to some unforseen financial complications we are forced to cancel
2004 and find the resources for 2005. This decission was neccessary to
guarantee the existence of this project. I hope this will not harm our working
relationship and we can still contact you in the future.

New guy Micha cancelled his job at Custard. He said that he will put his focus mainly to his planned bistro-cafe an only do the music besides.

It took a long time, but now the studioschedule is fix. The production for the next album starts next week. Presumably it will be released in autumn and the title will be Wheels of time.

Also there is a load of new shows confirmed. Check the dates-section and come along to bang your head.

On March 11th Jaqueline Wenk died because of cancer. Jaqueline did some light-jobs at the Custard-shows in northern germany.

She was only 41 years old.

Directly before the departure to the WNT-festival Custard got informations
that the Main act of the festival, is not able to play.
Agathodaimon, had a death in their family and Custard should play this position. They extended the planned set and Custard played as last band of the festival. Sorry to the fans,
that you had to wait longer for us, we hope we had compensated it with a longer Custard set. A Review (German only) and pictures will follow in the next days...

Not suddenly and not unexpectedly Custard devides from keyboardplayer Ron Michel. Different opinions within the range of songwriting and sound made this step necessary.
Chris:
"perhaps we out-hesitated this decision to long, because
it is not easy to set a friend evenly simply before the door... finally there was no other way. We regret this separation and Ron for sure will stay in our
friend circle. We would like to thank you for the time
of good co-operation Ron!"

A new Keyboarder could be already hired. Micha Popp will take
his place behind the keys.
Chris: "We welcome Micha in our
rows and look forward to co-operate with him." You can find a profile of Micha
